Calendar Invites

Organizing Meetings on home.nanome.ai

Starting with the new Calendar Invite feature, users can now invite their colleagues to scheduled meetings. Users will now see a new ‘meetings’ tab in the lobby where they can see their scheduled & upcoming meetings. Users can also create, schedule, and manage their meetings from home.nanome.ai as well. Much like traditional online scheduling, users can share a Quick Link to a scheduled Nanome meeting into a calendar event for easier access to join meetings in Nanome.

Shared Notepad

We’ve also added a new shared notepad feature that allows users to take text-based notes. Users can also take a screenshot and bring them into the room effectively making it a Post-it note!

Networking Improvements

Nanome’s networking has received a major improvement in this update. These improvements dramatically decreased any sort of lag/hiccups on the network when other colleagues would join or leave the room. This makes for a smooth room when users join or leave during a session. The other improvement was decreasing the impact to the rest of the users in the room when one person has a bad network connection (high ping) as to not disrupt the rest of the Nanome session.

Residue Poses

The new Alternative Conformations Menu allows users to choose to display their preferred residue positioning if there is non-zero occupancy. Explore the probable combinations of both amino acid conformations and ligand poses indicated within a refined structure. Analyze the impact of these shifts to see new opportunities and leverage them through visualization and editing tools.

Web Browser Updates in VR

Further Improvements to Web Browser

We continue to update and add features to the in-app web browser. The web browser now includes Tabs, Bookmarks, History, the ability to Screenshot, support for uploading files, and an ability to share a URL with other people in the room.

Varjo XR3 & VR3 Support

Nanome 1.23 is now compatible with the Varjo XR3 headset as well as the passthrough feature in that headset. With this feature, Nanome begins its foray into mixed and augmented reality. We plan to support more headsets that have similar passthrough capabilities, so stay tuned! If you’d like access to the Varjo XR3 build please contact us at support@nanome.ai

Be sure to check out the full release notes at nanome.ai/setup. We can’t wait to see how our users integrate these new features into their workflows. We encourage you to join our user slack group to share some of the creative uses of the web browser within Nanome!

Nanome updates in 2022, introducing Nanome 2.0

We are incredibly thankful for all the support from the community these past few years. We’re excited to announce that we will be working on a significant refresh of Nanome with Nanome 2.0, coming in early 2023. As a result of this significant update for Nanome, unlike the past few years of major updates to Nanome 1.xx, we plan to primarily make patches, bug fixes, and additional plugins to 1.23 going forward. We’ll have more to share on Nanome 2.0 soon, so be sure to stay up to date on our blog and newsletters!
