Our latest software update brings you improvements to the spatial recording BETA feature, a new free trial system, and more! Read on to see the highlights.

Spatial Recordings (BETA) and Advanced Tutorials

First introduced in our previous 1.20 update, the spatial recording feature allows you to record the entire virtual Nanome environment, including your movements and manipulations, and then playback the recording at a later time. After some initial feedback from our users, we’ve made performance improvements that we are now bringing to you! Please note that this feature is still considered to be in BETA, but we will continually bring improvements over the next few updates.

You can use this feature to record tutorials, presentations, lectures, in-VR working sessions, and much more! Need some examples? Check out the Advanced Tutorials menu in Nanome. Building off of Nanome Basics (introduced in 1.20), these “advanced tutorials” provide helpful tips and demonstrate how Nanome can be used in different workflows. Be sure to check out all of these recordings — and then make your own!

NEW 30-day Free Trial System

Brand new to this update, we have created a special 30-day Nanome Premium trial that includes access to the advanced features in the academic and commercial licenses, as well as early access to Nanome-Hosted Plugins. New users who create a Nanome account for the first time will automatically be enrolled into this free 30-day trial. If you are an existing user with the Personal (free) license and would like to partake in this trial, you will also be able to opt-in.

Other Improvements

Our drawing tool now supports left-handedness, so you can now write on the whiteboard, PDFs, and images using your left hand. Additionally, our plugin system now supports arbitrary dashed lines — this is something we hope to utilize in future plugins for chemical interactions.
